Walter's Walk - Me vs. Scrabble IPhone App After 100 Games
Me vs. Scrabble IPhone App After 100 Games|
And the thing is I can tell I'm rusty and missing stuff. I certainly would lay 4:1 on any game in the future.
15 years ago, Crosswise on my 386 w 4MB of RAM could play me about even. My phone has 32GB of RAM, and I'm pretty sure the processing power is sufficient to generate all Scrabble plays, given that it is sufficient to beat the snot out of me at chess.
Somehow, I think the programmers missed something.
With that monster spread, I assume you're recounting all ties.
Did you ever see any of Kenji's annotated games against Quackle? Once you figure out how the AI works, it becomes easier to beat by playing specifically to its style. Triply so when the endgame heuristics are the same as the midgame heuristics.
There's no phone with 32 gigs of RAM.
It's got 32G of some type of storage. My old computer that played me even had 80MB total.
just something that implements appel-jacobson's search algorithm + decent heuristics, with no simming, should result in a 1850~1900 strength player i think. (so like speedy quackle but maybe a little worse). something's definitely wrong with those EA games. that algorithm is not that hard to implement. even i've done it.

The 32gb of storage on the phone isn't RAM. The rumor is that the latest iPhone4 has 512MB of RAM, twice as much as the 3GS and iPad. Anyway, glad to see you haven't totally abandoned Scrabble in favor of chess.
