2010: Drummers I Saw Perform, The Collage
..and I'll define perform so as to exclude the guy at the bottom of this entry being one of the top two air-drummers in my row at Sir Paul.

Probably not a lot of drumheads reading this (o/u = 2.5), but I saw some amazing guys last year. You are a totally cool music nerd if you can identify 75% or more.

From top left going clockwise:
1) Joey Jordison, of Rob Zombie
2) Don Henley, of the Eagles who only played some of the time
3) Matt Cameron, of Pearl Jam
4) Ronald Bruner, Jr, who I saw w Stanley Clarke, but has played with lots of people
(turning the corner, and going down)
5) Wayne Clarke, of Steel Pulse
6) Jay Lane, of Primus
7) Neil Peart of Rush
8) Abe Laboriel, Jr who played w Paul McCartney
9) Jaimoe Johnson, of the Allman Brothers
10) Foley of P-Funk
11) Butch Trucks, also of Allman Brothers
12) Stanton Moore, of Galactic
(turning into the collage)
13) John Paris, of Earth, Wind & Fire
14) Josh Freese, of many bands, but I saw him with Devo
15) Frank Beard, of ZZTop
(going down and back now)
16) Russell Batiste, of the New Meters
17) Mick Brown, formerly of Dokken, now of Nuge
18) Brian Blade, who backed Wayne Shorter
(up and in)
19) Bud Gaugh, of Sublime
20) Steve Ferrone, of Tom Petty and the HeartBreakers

These guys are all awesome, and I hate to diminish art by ranking them. But if there were a trifecta of just blowing me away, it would go:

3) Jay Lane
2) Brian Blade
1) Ronald Bruner, Jr

Frank Beard (#15) was the answer to a recent trivia question I got: Who is the only member of ZZ Top without a beard?
